Office Love and the Blind

Ragan Daily featured a Norwegian association of the Blind ad that encourages employers to hire the blind. They’ve actually put out a series of ads that highlight the benefits of hiring blind employees, but the clip below seems spotlights the greatest perks.

In an “Ad Freak” blog post, Tim Nudd points out that ad is implying that you can misbehave more at work if you hire the blind. The advertising agency that produced this ad is Try From Oslo located in Norway.

Nobody argues the ad is amusing, but the bigger question at hand: Does it offend the very people it’s trying to help?

I think the ad would be too risque to air on American television without having some organization respond hostilely.

  1. I agree that the ad will never air on American television without being criticized for its content and the message it implies. I also think it’s very offensive to the people that it wants to help. It looks like the advertising agency wanted to get the important message across in a non-traditional way that will attract positive reactions because of its humor, but got carried away.
